The Camp Programming at YMCA Camp St. Croix is focused on providing small group, age-progressive camping experiences for youth ages 8 to 16. Teams of two Counselors work together providing leadership to small cabin groups of 8 to 10 campers for 6 and 13 day sessions. While in camp, counselors live with their campers in cabins or platform tents. Counselors participate in the Program Area activities with their cabin groups, supporting the area program staff. When out on-trail, the counselor team is responsible for all leadership aspects of the trail experience.

Cabin groups at Camp St. Croix are divided into Units. Camper age and specialized program activities define each Unit. Throughout each Resident Camp sessions, staff will have the opportunity to work with different co-counselors and be assigned to different camper Units.

- 8 Staff Interns (for 17-year-old applicants)
QUALIFICATIONS
- All Counseling Staff must be at least 18 years of age and have an openness to living with and supporting campers from diverse backgrounds; an enthusiasm towards developing personal leadership; and a healthy personal philosophy to live by and share with others.
- CPR, First Aid, Oxygen & AED Training required for all Resident Counselor positions
- Counselors begin staff training in the beginning of June
- Counseling Staff are typically contracted for 9 to 11 weeks of summer.
SALARIES
Resident Counseling Staff position salaries range from $160 - $220 per week, depending upon experience and position level.- Room and Board provided during entire contract period
Being a part of the Camp St. Croix Program Staff Team is an exciting opportunity to share in the leadership of the Summer Camp Community while focusing on a particular area of program management and leadership. Program Staff are highly involved in the camper experience through the daily facilitation of camp activity areas and the support of the evening programs and community management. The Program Staff members provide resources, support and encouragement to the Counseling Staff in their roles as trainers, Unit Directors, Advisors and friends. Although each Program Staff position is designed to emphasize one area of expertise, every position is filled with opportunities to develop leadership in a wide variety of ways related to youth, peers, and community support & development.
Qualifications for Program Staff Positions vary depending upon the program area and position responsibility levels. All Program Staff must be at least 20 years of age and have an openness to new experiences, hard work, long days, community involvement, and relationship building with youth and peers.
On-Site Program Staff position salaries range from $200-$300 per week, depending upon experience and position level. Room and Board is provided for all On-Site Program Staff positions. Resident Camp Program Staff are expected to live on-site, some exceptions may apply.

Interviews can be conducted either by phone or in person, depending on convenience. Returning staff hiring begins in December each year and new staff hiring begins in January.

Daycroix Counseling PositionsThe Daycroix program at YMCA Camp St. Croix offers children ages 4 to 13 a day camping experience. Each counselor works with a small age group of campers for each 5 day session. Counselors plan and lead a variety of activities that support the program goals, including nature hikes, games, songs, swimming, sports, archery, team building courses and exploration. Counselors have an opportunity to work with different age groups each session. Each Thursday evening staff lead older campers in an overnight camping experience. |

The Daycroix Assistant Directors provide administrative support to staff and campers through the management rosters, attendance, program schedules and other systems of Daycroix. They lead the Program Staff, facilitating communication and staff development.
A DayCroix Naturalist, DayCroix Pioneering Director, DayCroix Specialty Camp Director, and DayCroix Arts & Crafts Director provide focused and creative Nature and Art activities for DayCroix campers and staff. The Pioneering Director leads campers through a variety of Pioneer Crafts, skills and living history stations.
The Daycroix and Resident camp programs offer horseback riding to campers of all ages. One Wrangler position is available. Wranglers must have horse experience and be able to teach the campers about riding. The Riding Director must have instructor certification and be able to provide supervision for the overall program. (These positions have room and board available.)
Daycroix program staff salary ranges from $300 to $400 per week, depending on experience.

Do you want to make a difference in the life of a child while working in a 400+ acre outdoor classroom? YMCA Camp St. Croix is the place for you! Join our 12 member team of Outdoor Education Instructors in a residential program along the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway.
At Camp St. Croix, Environmental education was established in 1984 and currently serves approximately 65 schools throughout the Twin Cities metro area and Western Wisconsin. Instructors lead small groups of students in the field teaching from 60 different curriculum choices that encompass natural history, outdoor skills, living history and teambuilding to students in grades K-12. Other responsibilities include participation in ongoing training, curriculum development, classroom and dining hall prep, and evening programs. We request that applicants hold a bachelors degree in education, outdoor recreation or related field, although we provide a comprehensive training program for all employees. Prior experience working with children is a must. In addition, applicants are required to have current certification in First Aid and CPR as a minimum. We are looking for individuals who are able to lead clients of all ages with care, respect and safety in the outdoors; people who demonstrate group management skills; maintain a creative approach in a flexible program; folks who exhibit solution oriented skills and who want to have fun all at the same time!
$200-300/week based on experience, plus optional room and board and membership to the local YMCA. Paid, on-going training. Positions begin late August through June of the following year; weekends off, unpaid holiday and seasonal breaks.

Come join our team of talented team development facilitators! The Saint Croix Team Development Center provides a wide variety of experiential teambuilding programs to a diverse population of participants. We serve youth, college students, adult and corporate groups with personal and team development programs throughout the year. We are looking for motivated, creative individuals with demonstrated leadership abilities, solid interpersonal skills and an interest in the field of experiential education. Sense of humor is a must. Experience is preferred, but we will train all qualified applicants in facilitation of Initiatives, Low Ropes, Climbing Towers, High Ropes and other experiential education activities. Build your skills in group facilitation! We have an excellent reputation for delivering high quality programs focused on the groups' goals and learning. Positions are available year-round.
Hourly pay between $7-$10 per hour based on experience, leadership, and training, beautiful outdoor working environment located 30 minutes from the Twin Cities, meals during working hours and a free YMCA membership.
