Volunteers Help Out at Camp St. Croix

Every year Camp St. Croix is assisted in many ways by volunteers. Our regular planning and direction is provided by an excellent group of 20 community volunteers that serve on the YMCA Camp St. Croix Board of Management. These individuals represent diverse aspects of the St.Croix Valley and St. Paul communities, alumni and parent experiences as well as professional and program expertise central to Camp St. Croix needs. In addition, volunteers serve on program, properties and fundraising committees that assist the board in its service to camp. For more information or ways to become involved please e-mail us.

Work Projects

Camp St. Croix is always prepared to provide volunteer groups with meaningful projects. Store managers from REI have visited camp over the last few years to volunteer their time. Most recently, they have helped with improvements and repairs to the camp stables and horse pastures.

For several years, a very diligent group of volunteers have repeatedly provided many hours of special construction expertise. The Roseville Lutheran Church Habitat for Humanity crew spent time adding to their experience base by assisting with the building of a climbing tower, the trail building and other significant remodeling projects. In a similar style, the Skyway Y Service Club has historically touched many buildings at camp with some form of construction or remodeling effort. There are always more projects than there are volunteer days to complete them.

Employees from Ecolab have completed a variety of projects that have been very helpful and needed. These projects include split rail fences, barn rebuilding, putting in retaining walls and a large storage shed, and adding a deck to our pioneer village. Thanks Ecolab for remembering YMCA Camp St. Croix.
